A church potluck classic — only 4 ingredients! I end up making it nearly every week because my friends won’t let it miss a gathering.

This super easy casserole turns refrigerated biscuit dough into a warm, cheesy, pull-apart favorite using a simple garlic butter coating. It bakes up golden, soft on the inside, and loaded with melted cheese in every bite. Perfect for potlucks, parties, or family gatherings, this shareable dish comes together fast and disappears even faster.

4-Ingredient Cheesy Pull-Apart Potluck Casserole

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Refrigerated biscuit dough (homestyle or buttermilk) 2 cans (16 oz)
Shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend) 3 cups
Salted butter, melted 1/2 cup
Garlic powder 1 tbsp

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prep
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2: Cut the Biscuits
Separate the biscuits and cut each one into four smaller pieces using a knife or kitchen scissors.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter
In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and garlic powder. If using garlic salt instead, reduce the amount to 2 teaspoons.

Step 4: Coat the Biscuits
Add the biscuit pieces to the bowl and toss until they are fully coated in the garlic butter mixture. Using your hands helps ensure even coverage.

Step 5: Assemble the Casserole
Spread half of the coated biscuit pieces into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the top. Add the remaining biscuit pieces and finish with the rest of the cheese.

Step 6: Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the biscuits are cooked through and golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover with foil during the last 5–10 minutes.

Step 7: Rest and Serve
Let the casserole sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm so guests can easily pull apart the cheesy biscuit pieces.
