Cheesy Italian Stromboli Roll

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Pizza dough (homemade or store-bought) 1 lb (450 g)
Pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping) ½ cup
Mozzarella cheese, shredded 1½ cups
Provolone cheese, shredded ½ cup
Pepperoni slices 20–25
Deli ham or salami (optional) 6 slices
Egg, beaten (for egg wash) 1
Olive oil (for brushing) 1 tbsp
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Italian seasoning ½ tsp
Parmesan cheese, grated 2 tbsp
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) 2 tbsp

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle measuring roughly 10×14 inches. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly across the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.

Layer the Fillings:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses over the sauce. Evenly distribute the pepperoni slices on top, followed by ham or salami if you’re using it.

Roll and Seal:
Starting from one of the longer sides, roll the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the seams and tuck in the ends to seal everything in. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush and Season:
Brush the top with the beaten egg, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle on garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan to give it extra flavor and a beautiful crust.

Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbly and melted.

Slice and Serve:
Let the Stromboli cool for a few minutes before slicing. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish and serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

This cheesy Italian Stromboli roll is quick to make, incredibly satisfying, and perfect for feeding a crowd or enjoying as a fun twist on pizza night.
