How To Make Fried Green Tomatoes:
Prep Tomatoes & Dredging Stations: Slice the green tomatoes into ½-inch rounds, discarding the ends. In one bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Place flour on a plate. On another plate, mix cornmeal, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper.
Coat the Tomatoes: Dip each slice first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat it in the seasoned cornmeal-breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to make sure each slice is fully covered.
Fry the Tomatoes: Pour about ½ inch of vegetable oil into a large skillet and heat over medium. Fry tomatoes in batches of 4–5 slices, depending on pan size. Avoid crowding so they cook evenly.
Finish & Serve: Cook until golden brown on one side, flip, and brown the other. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy the irresistible crunch!
