I’m a little embarrassed by how much I love this dish… but it’s too delicious…

I have to admit—this dish is dangerously addictive. Chicken Cordon Bleu features tender chicken breasts wrapped around ham and Swiss cheese, then baked to golden, crispy perfection. With this recipe, you can recreate this classic restaurant favorite right in your own kitchen.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 4
Swiss cheese slices 4
Deli ham slices 4
All-purpose flour 1/2 cup
Eggs, beaten 2
Breadcrumbs 1 1/4 cups
Grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup
Garlic powder 1 teaspoon
Paprika 1/2 teaspoon
Salt & pepper To taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish. Place each chicken breast between plastic wrap and gently pound until about 1/4 inch thick.

Step 2: Assemble the Rolls
Place a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of ham on each flattened chicken breast. Roll the chicken tightly and secure with toothpicks if needed.

Step 3: Set Up Breading Stations
Arrange three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Coat the Chicken
Dredge each chicken roll in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly so the coating sticks. Place the breaded rolls in the prepared baking dish.

Step 5: Bake and Rest
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breading turns golden brown. Let the rolls rest a few minutes before slicing.

Step 6: Serve
Serve your Chicken Cordon Bleu hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. It pairs beautifully with steamed vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, or a crisp green salad.
