Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Creamy peanut butter 1 cup
Granulated sugar 1/2 cup
Brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup
Large egg 1
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
Salt 1/4 teaspoon
Semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together baking soda and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  6. Using a tablespoon, scoop the dough and roll into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Substitute half of the peanut butter with almond butter for a different nutty twist.
